34 out of 35 questions correct. They don’t tell you what you got wrong, or even your score, I just oversaw this when signing off on it. I’ll know my call sign later this week. Can’t wait to get on the air.

I’ve had a little BaoFeng UV-5r since high school that I used for scanning and as a walkie talkie. I’m hoping I can hit a few local repeaters from a roof patio on campus. I’ll probably buy a mobile 2 meter unit for my car for Christmas and get the cool call sign licence plate. Any other Oppo hams out there in the western NC/ eastern TN area that I might be able to reach on 2 meter or 70cm? No way I’ll get a HF set up or become proficient in Morse code anytime soon.

Congrats! Check the FCC database daily for your new callsign. You’re legal to get on the air the moment it’s issued. 73 de KJ1H!

Congrats. They don’t do the morse code thing anymore, do they? kids.

Right in JC, TN. Not into the radio but I have a CB ;)

There is some wonderful toys at L&S that should be utilized, like a teletype-signal keyboard from the 70s..

Now of course some of the devices exceed the license if the amps are adjusted past 4 or so. So don’t do that.

You will find VHF/UHF gets boring quickly. Save your money and buy a HF radio. Throw up a simple 10m dipole and have fun.
